Older driveways in established neighborhoods
A lot of Mesquite's housing went up in the 1960s and 1970s, and many of those driveways are on their second or third surface. The usual story is concrete that has heaved at the joints on the Dallas County clay, or asphalt that was overlaid more than once and now sits too high at the garage. Both usually call for the old surface to come out. We break it out, haul it off, rebuild the base so it can handle the clay moving, and lay new asphalt. The driveway replacement page walks through that work.
Lots along the interstates
Mesquite has four major highways running through it, and the shopping centers, restaurants, business parks and warehouses beside them carry heavy traffic. Delivery trucks and trash trucks wear out drive lanes and entrances long before the stalls. We patch the failed areas, overlay where the base is still firm, and rebuild truck routes with a thicker section where it is not. Work is phased so the business stays open. Repairs before they spread
Cracks that open in a dry August and fill with water in the spring are how most pavement in Mesquite starts to fail. Sealing them, fixing the low spots where water sits, and sealcoating every few years adds years to a driveway or lot. Where a section has already broken up, we cut it out and patch it with hot-mix; the asphalt repair page shows how. For how prices are put together, the asphalt driveway cost page lists each line item.
